Syria Also Helped Uproot Fateh el Islam

While some political parties in Lebanon still insist that Syria is behind Fateh el Islam, top Lebanese Army officers repeated in the press conference, held by Minister of Defense today, that the militant group is part of Al Qaeda network. And that their investigations, so far, does not incriminate Syria.

Not only that, but that Syria actually provided the Lebanese Army with logistical assistance during its battle with the militant group. They explained that the Minister of Defense did not mention Syria in his speech, as he did with the other countries that provided help to the army, because the Syrian help was part of an ongoing agreement between the Syrian Army and the Lebanese Army dating to the era before Syrian troops left Lebanon in 2005.

Of course Syria does not need to be thanked, after all, what are brothers for.

Syria is our sister, not our brother.

Syria is female as in: Suria habibati/ Suria shakikati...

And France is our mother. Lebanon is the prodigal son, of course.

if syria is our sister & france is our mother, who is our father? are jabal elbarook and jabal 3amil half-brothers? will we ever have children-states of our own? will these be out of wedlock?

MOUSSA,
I BELIEVE, IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECTLY, THAT LAST YEAR DURING THE WAR, SYRIA TOOK IN BIN LADEN'S SON. HE SHOWED UP AT SYRIA'S DOORSTEP AND THEY GLADLY OPENED UP THEIR DOOR. VERY SUSPICIOUS. I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT SYRIA IS CLEAN IN THIS OR ANY DIRTY SITUATION IN LEBANON. THEIR HISTORY IN LEBANON SPEAKS VOLUMES.
CONGRATS TO THE LEBANESE ARMY AND THE LEBANESE PEOPLE AND DEFEATING FAI.
PEACE
BUCKEYE

Moussa,

I missed this post. Lebanese 14th March politicians excel in the art of denial and delusion exactly like their present US counterparts.
Syrians are the only ones practicing pragmatic politics in the region and one should recognise that Pragmatism in all this madness is something that forces the admiration.

great, very easy to figure out, fateh el islam is indeed qaeeda, and syria facilitate their entrance to lebanon . plus i bet that a lot of lebanese (people and politicians) are not happy that the army won.
