What the F#$&ing F#$&?!!! [Updated & Clarified]

Update:I stand corrected - despite the fact that bigotry exists - thanks to Ahmad who wrote:

"This photo is fake and it was created using this website. You can write anything you want and it will create the sign for you.
I used a similar trick from the initial site to create the photo in
one of my posts."

Guess you can’t bar some people from being stupid.

Ironically, long before there were any Mohammedans in America, the first people who refrained from the consumption of pork meat were actually ultra-fundamentalist White Protestants who wished to emulate the “morality” of the Hebrew Old Testament.

John Harvey Kellogg (inventor of the famous Corn Flakes) was one of these Biblical fanatics: being an enthusiastic member of the 7th Day Adventist cult (a rightwing Protestant sect), he called for abstinence from pork, shellfish, and other foods proscribed as "unclean" in the Jewish Bible as well as from alcohol…

Funny how rightwing Protestants and Jews have actually a lot in common with the people they hate!

What makes them so sure that there are no Muslims inside? Many Muslims eat pork, as do Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, etc...

Thanks Ahmad,

I am glad that this is clarified.

I think I have to change something in the post now, although bigotry does exist.

At least this one is exonerated.

Thanks again.

I mean like Jeez!
Are you certain it's fake?
Looked terribly real to me, but then again Photoshop & Co. can do "wonders"....

Dr Victorino de la Vega said...

PS. Be it real (which frankly wouldn’t surprise me) or be it simply a racist hoax by some Islamo-phobic idiot, the fact remains that this type of racist provocation has been all too frequent in George Bush’s Amerikka since the tragic events of Sept 11 2001...

Well, because this particular photo is fake doesn't mean that similar signs won't exist now or in the future!

Well, the internet being what it is, and that tricksters' web site enabling what it does, a picture like that can end up having the same--or more--bigoted impact than an actual sign on an actual storefront, if the picture ends up being disseminated to more pairs of eyes than would glance a lost storefront sign on a god-forsaken street in a backward little town that would have the imbecility to put up, and put up with, a sign like that. The irony of image over reality so often defeating reality.

Please know that there are people in America who support you,who are protesting Israels treatment of Lebanon, and are protesting US involvement in this. I personally called the Whitehouse yesterday to voice my strong objections, and contacted Koffi Anan to ask that the UN intervene on behalf of the Lebanese civilians. I am outraged by this horrific action, and will continue to fight for fair treatment of your people.
